Co-founder hub

"OneStart is a colossal stimulus for university entrepreneurship at all levels from undergraduates to academic staff."

– Hagan Bayley, Co-founder of Oxford Nanopore

The OneStart Co-founder Hub gives you the chance to build your perfect team or join a biotech startup.

All teams are advised to browse this hub to complement their teams with co-founders. One of our judging criteria will be the breadth of expertise within your team.

If you do not have an idea of your own, but experience or skills that would be useful to a bio-entrepreneur, register now as a co-founder. Our goal is to link people with ideas with those who can help them realise it.

Send an email now to somebody below, and who knows, you might be picking up an oversized cheque with them in May 2016.

Oxford E&M graduate pursuing entrepreneurial ventures in the health tech domain. I had a successful stint in Investment Banking before deciding to my pursue my passion for mental and physical health optimisation. I am currently developing an innovative real-time intervention mechanism for mental health, and am looking for co-founders from medical and/or technical backgrounds to take the vision to the next level. Mental health is arguably the greatest health issue of our generation, yet it remains stigmatised, unaccessible and a financial blackhole. My aim is to transcend taboo, improve access and cut costs through leveraging effective proprietary technology, and mitigate greatly the problem of mental health in society.

I am passionate about improving healthcare and truly enjoy working on a Project Development Team towards an achievable goal. I bring a diverse set of skills in the fields of bioengineering, biochemistry, medical device design, nanotechnology and fabrication, biosensors, biophysics, and single molecule analysis. This diversity also stems from my educational background; notably obtaining an MS degree in Biomedical, Chemical, and Mechanical Engineering and then finally getting my Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Eng. I have worked in Big Pharma, implantable neural devices, and HIV detection, to name a few. I have entered and been successful in several entrepreneurial competitions in the past and look forward to joining a strong team. I work hard, and expect a hard working team as well!

During my Masters project, I have worked on stretchable electronic devices which I think has huge applications in human-machine interfaces. My experience fabricating such devices can be useful for people working in this areas. Along with that I have a Bachelors degree in Polymer Engineering during which I have gained knowledge about polymer chemistry, their synthesis and processing.
Apart from my academic background, I also have experience working in a FinTech startup as Product development associate. I believe this experience has given me a entrepreneural perspective to look at ideas and also motivated to try something into human-machine interface. Anyone interested please contact me on watsapp +91 9930527904

Brief intro
Before starting my PhD in biomedical engineering at Cambridge, I received a BSc in genetics, a Msc in nanotechnology, and co-founded an e-health startup that raised €500k.

During my doctorate, I have been focusing on pathogen detection methods and on the development of diagnostic devices.

Concurrently with my PhD, I have also been working as a postgraduate mentor at Cambridge Uni, as head of business development for a local startup, and as project manager for OBR.

This is a great time for me to become a Onestart co-founder and apply my scientific knowledge and entrepreneurial skills to help set up a successful startup. Feel free to contact me as I would be happy to discuss a potential collaboration.

P.S. In my free time, I like to row, do crossfit, cook and sing.

I am a multidisciplinary research student with excellent knowledge in point-of-care, microfluidic, molecular (DNA) diagnostic device development. Possesses unique knowledge gained through interdisciplinary projects (academic and industrial collaborations) in sample preparation, nucleic acid assay development and product design. In 2012, I began my PhD at Brunel University within a large interdisciplinary group. My research focuses on the development of an integrated molecular diagnostic device for Point-of-Care testing in resource-limited settings.
