Co-founder hub

"OneStart is a colossal stimulus for university entrepreneurship at all levels from undergraduates to academic staff."

– Hagan Bayley, Co-founder of Oxford Nanopore

The OneStart Co-founder Hub gives you the chance to build your perfect team or join a biotech startup.

All teams are advised to browse this hub to complement their teams with co-founders. One of our judging criteria will be the breadth of expertise within your team.

If you do not have an idea of your own, but experience or skills that would be useful to a bio-entrepreneur, register now as a co-founder. Our goal is to link people with ideas with those who can help them realise it.

Send an email now to somebody below, and who knows, you might be picking up an oversized cheque with them in May 2016.

I have a background in chemistry and at the moment I am doing aPhD in molecular biology. I have worked in the synthesis and screening of small compounds to find new targets as well as in developing biomaterials for tissue regeneration. Additionally, I did an internship in an international company and I have some experience in project management and business.
I am really motivated and I am especially interested in personalized health including new therapeutics and fast diagnostic tools. I would be happy to be part of your team and we together will do our best to improve people's health.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon!

I am keen on improving the living quality of human being, and biotech is a way to achieve that goal. Entrepreneurship is always a great opportunities and bring great experience for a PhD student.
Specialized in Physics with research interest in Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamic simulation, I hope to contribute building up good biological model and provide simulation result as well as construct experiment to test the validity of the idea.

I enjoy the intellectual challenge of operating in a heavily regulated industry with complicated science. I have an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and an MBA, so I am able to understand both the business and the science. I also have 3+ years of experience as a consultant in the life science industry.

Sophomore at MIT studying MechE minoring in Biomedical Engineering. In the Langer laboratory I have worked in developing a controlled release vaccine for polio and in testing formulations for its stabilization. Currently I work in developing and testing a tissue engineered heart valve scaffold using polymers. This past summer I interned in a pre-clinical startup lab in Chile and developed experiments for isolation, characterization and differentiation of a pluripotent stem cell called Muse cell. It was a very enriching experience as I was exposed to industry and startups while also to many in-vitro as well as in-vivo techniques. Now, I'm taking a graduate level class on building a healthcare startup from scratch, so I'm developing valuable business skills that I will use in my career.

I have extensive experience in genomics, technology development, and computational biology. My areas of expertise are in (1) the interface of genomics and biophysics, with respect to mutation impacts on protein and RNA molecular functions, (2) regulatory genomics in development/disease, and (3) genomic and molecular evolution. These skills are integral to understanding the molecular mechanisms and signatures of pathogenic mutations, critical to patient stratification for clinical diagnostics. Having led multidisciplinary teams in first-author publications in cancer genomics (Nat. Genetics), high-throughput biophysics (Nat. Biotech), developmental biology (Nature), and genomic regulation (Nature), my goal today is to deliver solutions that directly improve the lives of 7 Billion people.

I have been trained in physics and I want to get into biotech - intriguing! Well, it's always pleasure to do physics, but what brings a little more pleasure and a sense of pride is - "This is what I have built-up using physics and yes, it can solve your problems". Exactly, this is the reason I want to get into entrepreneurship. Biotech attracts me because this is one way of making science reach to the masses and for a good reason.

I have specialised in optics and have been working on it for around 8 years now. I have fairly good understanding of optics and use of light as a probe. Last year, we (I and two of my teammates) have come up with a design (algorithm is in the test phase), for a device that is expected to raise an early alarm in case of MI, commonly known as heart-attack.
